This Cookie Policy explains how Waypoint (“Waypoint”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on waypoint.world and the Waypoint application (the “Services”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences, and they help us understand how the site is used.

We also use similar technologies that work in comparable ways:

• Local storage and session storage, which hold information in your browser.
• Pixels and tags, small pieces of code that record that a page was opened.

In this Policy, “cookies” covers all of these.

First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by services we use, such as analytics providers.

2. Categories we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the Services to work. We do not need your consent to set these.

They support things like keeping you signed in during a visit, remembering that your wallet is connected, routing your requests, and protecting against fraud and abuse.

Functional

Remember choices you make so the Services behave the way you expect — for example your interface preferences or previously connected accounts. If you block these, the Services still work, but some things reset each visit.

Analytics

Help us understand how the Services are used: which pages are visited, how people move through them, where errors occur, and which features are used. This is aggregated and used to improve the product. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Marketing

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this Policy before setting them.

3. Your choices

We do not currently show a cookie banner. You can control cookies in the following ways.

Your browser. Most browsers let you see what cookies are set, delete them, and block them, either entirely or by site. Blocking all cookies will break parts of the Services. Instructions are in your browser’s help pages.

Private browsing. Opening the Services in a private or incognito window limits cookies to that session.

Do Not Track. Browsers vary in how they signal this and there is no agreed standard, so we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

4. Blockchain and wallet connections

Connecting a wallet may involve your browser storing data locally so the connection persists between visits. This is held in your browser and is not a cookie we read, but it is a similar technology, and you can clear it through your browser or by disconnecting your wallet.

Blockchain transactions themselves are not cookies. They are recorded publicly and permanently, and cannot be deleted. See our Privacy Policy.

5. Changes

We may update this Policy as the Services change. The current version will always be posted here with its date. If we begin using a new category of cookie, we will update this Policy before doing so.
